Concerned
Women for Family Development (CWFD) |
Concerned
Women for Family Development (CWFD) is a pioneer
in identifying women’s potential, arranging
appropriate skill development training, and bringing
them under micro credit programs to building greater
self-reliance. The organization originally named
‘Concerned Women for Family Planning (CWFP)
was established in 1975 with a focus on family planning.
The main mission of CWFD is to improve the lives
of women and improve their standing within the household,
so that they have equal status. It raises awareness
on health issues and provides training for income
generation. CWFD operates in Dhaka, Chittagong,
Khulna Bogra, Magura, Tangail, and Khulna. |

• Promoting a model to better safeguard hospitals

Organization
of Art for Children (OACH) |
Organization of Art for Children
(OACH) is a rights-based organization which was set
up in 1995. It has worked since its inception toward
ensuring human rights in general, and child rights
in particular. OACH uses the “integrated art
expression tool to raise awareness of children, their
guardians and neighbors about child rights and related
issues. |
• Generate knowledge on the
risks of earthquakes at schools
• Generate preparedness of garment factories
and the ward commission against the risk of earthquake.

Unite
Theatre for Social Action (UTSA) |
UTSA is an umbrella organization
which was established in 1997 that supports theatre
projects with children in the slums, education for
children in the slums and empowerment work for people
with disabilities throughout Bangladesh. UTSA envisions
establishing the rights of deprived people through
practicing theatre. With interactive participation
of disabled and underprivileged people, UTSA aims
to establish a community/issue-based theatre unit
to work with mainstream development, with the help
of Theatre for Development. |

Green Hill is a Chittagong Hill Tracts
(CHT) people’s non-political development organization,
which was established on March 2, 1994. Its aim is
to create a CHT environment which is naturally and
socially resourceful, in which the poor and deprived
people will be socially and economically empowered
and enjoy improved living conditions. The organization
is working for the poor, socially and economically
deprived people in the CHT, with special focus on
women and children, people in least developed areas
and indigenous people. |

Committees, District Disaster Management Committees,
etc,

Young Power in Social Action (YPSA),
a voluntary social development organization was launched
on May 20, 1985 in Sitakunda Upazila under Chittagong
division. Inspired by the spirit of the International
Youth Year, YPSA aimed to mobilize and organize youth
to actively participate in the development process.
YPSA envisions a society without poverty where everyone's
basic needs and rights are ensured. YPSA exists to
participate alongside the poor and vulnerable population
to bring about their own, and society’s, sustainable
development. |

Desh Gori (EDG) |
Esho Desh Gori (EDG) is a local non-government
development organization, which was established on
16 October in 1982. The aim of EDG is to enhance the
livelihood and socio-economic condition of disadvantaged
people. EDG works with financial and technical support
from the government, civil society and NGOs. EDG is
striving to effectively enhance the condition of the
people through their project activities. |

organizations to safeguard themselves against flood.

Gram
Unnayan Kendra (GUK) |
GUK
was launched by a group of enthusiastic young people
in 1982. It started its venture as a club in order
to improve the condition of commune people. The goal
of GUK is to ensure empowerment and livelihood status
of the marginalized, poor and disadvantaged people
through improvement of their socio-economic condition.
The objectives of GUK is to:
- Provide continuous services with the aim of improving
the condition of deprived landless workers
- Increase the level of self awareness among poor
people through different training
- Provide financial support to develop self-dependence
